At Dean's Defensive Driving school we take Beginner Driver Education (BDE) very seriously. Our focus is on precision driving skills, knowledge, and behaviour. On any given day we can expect 3-5 fatalities in the GTA due to a motor vehicle collision. The numbers are staggering when you consider the cost and impact of mild, moderate and serious injuries sustained to drivers, passengers and pedestrians. The rising cost of automobile liability insurance in most metropolitan areas, is resulting in motorists to pay out of their own pocket for collision damage to their vehicles. Inappropriate risk taking, reckless behaviour, impairments, lack of professional driver training, and distractions is a growing concern for all Ontario road users. I'm sure we all know someone who was injured or killed due to a driver's
negligence on the road. Experience has shown 98% of all motor vehicle collisions are avoidable even if the other driver was at-fault for a dangerous manoeuvre on the road.

Our experiential learning in-the classroom motivates students to engage in active discussions and a chance to learn about themselves, find solutions to the driving environment out on Ontario roads. Our classes are small so we can get to know each other really well and give everyone a chance to share knowledge, opinions, and solutions.
In depth collision scenarios, emergency manoeuvres are studied along with collision avoidance techniques. Below is a very brief outline of the topics we cover in the classroom.

The in-vehicle instruction is second to none as we challenge students in a variety of driving situations in order to prepare them for driving on their own and obtaining near perfect road tests. Our focus is on the

Most novice drivers are involved in collisions after they have obtained their G2 or G licence and we know for certain that obtaining a driver's licence does not always indicate professional driving skills.

My driver education is based on 34 years of Canadian driving experience, a very strong love and passion for driving, having logged close to 2 million km without a collision. Honours graduate of Canadian Pro Drivers and a driven advocate for road safety. I possess a strong safety background having worked for 20 years as an automobile claims specialist and at the brokerage level.
As I tell all beginner drivers, driving is a wonderful experience, freedom to move, travel and journey on the some of the most beautiful scenic roads in the world! But at the same time it one of the most dangerous activities you will do in your lifetime!
